Experience two guided tours of early 1800 Sydney Mansions. Elizabeth Bay  House, with sweeping views of the Harbour, built in the 1840’s, was known as “one of the finest houses of the colony” and is complete with most of its original furnishings. Following a picnic lunch, be taken on a guided tour of Vaucluse House, set on 10 hectares of picturesque grounds and gardens. This sandstone house was also home to the  explorer Charles Wentworth.

  • Guided Tour of the National Trust Houses: Vaucluse House and Elizabeth Bay House. VAUCLUSE HOUSE: One of the most treasured estates, dating back to 1803, in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, Vaucluse House is surrounded by 10 hectares of picturesque gardens and grounds stretching down to Sydney Harbour. The sandstone mansion was built in the 1830s and was the home of William Charles Wentworth, barrister and explorer, and his family. ELIZABETH BAY HOUSE: Built by the fashionable architect John Verge, Elizabeth Bay House is a magnificent example of colonial architecture with sweeping views of Sydney Harbour. Occupied by the Colonial Secretary, Alexander Macleay and his family, between 1839 and 1845, it was known as the ‘finest house in the colony’. The house boasts exquisite 19th century furnishings and is beautiful.
