Day 1

Brisbane - Armidale
Your Christmas holiday begins as we make our way via Cunninghams Gap through Warwick and into Granite Belt region. Continue on to Tenterfield, a town justifiably proud of its tree-lined avenues and its federation era charm, for lunch before travelling through Glen Innes and Guyra. This afternoon, arrive in Armidale, promoted as a "City for All Seasons", for our overnight stay.

Day 2

Armidale - Muswellbrook - Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Lights
After breakfast, continue over the New England Plateau and see the huge cluster of granite boulders known as Thunderbolt Rock, located south of Uralla on the New England Highway. Continuing on, the scene is far more pastoral, as sheep and cattle graze on the undulating highlands. Travel via Tamworth, Scone and Muswellbrook before arriving into Polkolbin, where you will spend time in the stunning Hunter Valley Gardens. Later, check into our accommodation before an early dinner prior to returning to the gardens for the Christmas Lights Spectacular; a truly astonishing sight to see!

Day 3

Hunter Valley - Goulburn
Today, our NSW passengers can join us as we make our way through Cessnock to Penrith, for a visit to the Museum of Fire. Here you can explore the history of fighting fires and also see the extensive range of fire vehicles, uniforms and tools. After lunch, travel via the Southern Highlands, before arriving in Goulburn for our overnight stay.

Day 4

Goulburn - Thredbo
This morning visit Bungendore and discover art, craft and antique shops in the Bungendore Village Square; Bungendore Wood Works Gallery is definitely worth a visit. Travel on to Cooma for lunch before visiting the Snowy Region Visitor Information Centre for an audio visual presentation. This afternoon, arrive in the alpine village of Thredbo where we spend the next three nights.

PLEASE NOTE: There are flights of stairs at the resort that you must be able to ascend and descend within the resort.

Day 5

Snowy Hydro - Murray Power Station - Khancoban
After a hearty breakfast, travel to Scammels Spur Lookout and enjoy the superb mountain views. Continue on the Alpine Way, stopping for a visit to the interactive visitors centre at Murray 1 Power Station, which really allows you to understand how important the Snowy Hydro Scheme has been, and still is, to the area. After a picnic lunch at Khancoban, visit Geehi camping area and the historic cattleman's hut. Today you are as close as you can be, to the headwaters of the "Mighty Murray". Return to the motel for dinner.

Day 6

Merry Christmas!
After breakfast, take the opportunity to join the Village Ecumenical church service or relax at the hotel. For our Christmas celebrations, enjoy a scrumptious hot and cold buffet in the glorious alpine surrounds. This afternoon is at leisure, before joining back together this evening for a light dinner.

Day 7

Thredbo - Goulburn - Camden
This morning after breakfast, it's time to farewell Thredbo and depart Koscuiszko National Park. It will be hard to leave the majestic mountains behind. Travel the Monaro Highway to Bredbo for morning tea before continuing on to Bowral, stopping for lunch along the way. This afternoon, we arrive in Camden Park for our overnight stay.

Day 8

Camden - Maitland - Brisbane
Today we take the very scenic drive back to the Hunter. Begin with a stop in Windsor to enjoy a cuppa overlooking the Hawkesbury River. Traverse the picturesque Putty Road, which commences in the historic town of Windsor on the outskirts of Western Sydney, through some stunning rainforest areas before arriving into The Hunter's agricultural region. For our NSW passengers, transfer will be arranged and for our Queensland passengers, your crew will assist with your check in before your flight back to Brisbane, where your transfers will be waiting.
