Day 1
Brisbane - 1770
Your tour begins as we travel through the Sunshine Coast Hinterland stopping off for Morning Tea before continuing on through Gympie and on to the heritage city of Maryborough for lunch. Continue on through Childers and the grazing areas of Gin Gin before arriving into Agnes Water – a tranquil, "off the beaten track", seaside community with its quiet, sandy beaches. This coastal town has the most northerly surfing beach in Queensland. Settle into Agnes Waters for the next 3 nights.
Day 2
Larc Tour
Enjoy a full day of fun and adventure exploring the unspoilt coastline to Bustard Head Lighthouse on board the brightly painted Larc V "Sir Joseph Banks". Join us on a journey into history over vast sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. Visit the Bustard Head Lighthouse with its 360 degree view of the pristine coastline and at the light-station, guests hear of the tales of triumph and tragedy as early settlers and light- keepers tried to tame this remote wilderness. Morning tea, picnic lunch and billy tea beneath a canopy of shady trees is included. Take in some of the local sights around 1770 prior to returning to the motel.
Day 3
Agnes Water - 1770
This morning we travel back to 1770 to spend some time discovering some of the unique aspects of this area. There will also be opportunity to do some short walks to view the area, so make sure you wear your comfortable walking shoes. The Agnes Water Museum celebrates the landing with copies of Captain James Cook’s journals, logs, charts and memorabilia from the Discovery Coast region. Visit the 1770 Distillery, a small boutique distillery that utilise the locally grown fruits of the area. Return to Agnes Water for some free time to purchase your own lunch either at the resort or one of the cafes in township. The remainder of the day is yours to choose. Relax at the resort and enjoy the resort facilities, take a long walk along the beach or take the short walk known asThe Paperbark Trail.
